Festival Flamenco Alburquerque 36 presents Raquel Heredia "La Repompa" y Compañía with invited artist Sergio Aranda. In Ad-Libitum Heredia takes the stage with her sister, singer Amparo Heredia, winner of the 2021 Lampara Minera, and invited artist, the celebrated dancer Sergio Aranda. This deep, thrilling work builds a dialogue among all artists present on the stage. Grounded in the Heredia family's Gitano (Spanish Roma) roots and traditional interpretation of flamenco, Ad-Libitum also opens up the expressive possibilities present in the art form. Though a veteran of flamenco performance, Ad-Libitum is Heredia's first solo theatre show. In Heredia's own words, "Through this work, I transmit my way of living, dancing, and being."
Festival Flamenco Alburquerque is a production of the National Institute of Flamenco in partnership with the University of New Mexico and the National Hispanic Cultural Center.
