It is based on Margaret Landon's novel, Anna and the King of Siam, which is take from the memoirs of Anna Leonowens, governess to the children of King Monkut of Siam in the early 1860's. This intriguing story of the King of Siam, and the teacher he brings halfway around the world to teach his children is funny poignant, heartwarming. A lush musical score for full orchestra, The King & I contains several classic songs such as "Getting to Know You", "Shall We Dance", "I Whistle a Happy Tune" and "Hello, Young Lovers". Breathtaking sets , costumes, and lighting, this is the perfect show for families to experience together both onstage and in the audience.

These performances are open to all patrons; however, they are intentionally modified to accommodate deaf and hard of hearing patrons as well as patrons with sensory and vestibular sensitivities, anxiety, dementia, autism spectrum disorders, learning differences, or challenges attending the theater. ASL Interpreters will be present and signing from the moment our curtain speech begins until the final bow. The performances might also feel more welcoming for families with children, who may need the ability to get up and move around or take a break in the lobby.
