ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
a Materia is the second chapter in Spanish National Dance Prize winner Olga Pericet's groundbreaking trilogy, inspired by the guitars crafted by the legendary luthier Antonio de Torres (1817-1892), considered the father of the modern Spanish guitar.
In La Leona, Pericet explored the guitar from an external perspective. With La Materia, she delves inward, evoking the essence of wood, its scent, sound, and silence. The performance marks a pivotal moment in her career, blending echoes of her artistic journey with "a new way of seeing." Pericet joins forces with contemporary dancer, choreographer, and fellow Spanish National Dance Prize winner Daniel Abreu, co-directing, choreographing, and performing an adventurous work that defies categorization.
